MOYOU LONDON STAMPING KIT

WHERE TO BUY

As far as I know there is only 2 places to buy this kit the first is from MOYOU LONDON themselves or you can get it from BOOTS online. Sadly boots only have 3 of there sets at the moment and you cannot buy in-store, but maybe if they get popular they may start to stock them in-store for all us nail fanatics.

Me being me always on the lookout for a bargain found these sets online at boots after admiring them for so long on Moyou London's website I was shocked to find them online at boots and whats more cheaper yes that's right cheaper. On Moyou London they are £29.99 but on boots there only £22.99 that is a massive saving of £7. I had the added bonus that I had that amount of points on my advantage card so I got my little set for free absolutely made up was not the word I did however had to pay the postage or get it delivered in-store for free ummmm guess what option I went for..... yes that's right free postage to in-store it was lucky really as my little boy had an appointment in town that afternoon though i would of still gone for in-store pick up.The only thing with going on boots on-line is if you already have some stamp plates in that option you will have to go on Moyou Londons website to check what plates are in the sets as boots do not tell you what plates are in but Moyou London do but well worth a little extra time to save some extra cash.

WHATS IN THE BOX

I was super excited to get home and have a peek  inside and I was not disappointed at all you get 3 stamp polishes, 2 stamp plates.applicator & scraper an instruction booklet and all this is presented in a beautiful sturdy box. It even has the different sections for each item to go in and if you have more stamp plates there is room for a few more.

The first plate is Mother Nature stamp plate 02 this is a scene plate what i mean is the plate it's self is a little scene of everything mother nature. There's peacocks, humming birds, flowers and lots more you will never be bored with this plate. The detail is amazing as with all Moyou London plates in my opinion these are the best and most versatile plates on the market.

The next plate is Mother Nature plate 10 again i'm not disappointed at all there is plenty to go at all different kind of butterfly's of all shapes sizes and designs on them there is small ones big ones flowers galore Moyou London really do treat us with there fantastic designs and the best of it is that they always stamp well and 9 out of 10 first time too. If you are struggling with your current stamp plates then I would suggest getting these just buy the 1 and i assure you you will be addicted and want more more more.

COLOURS

You get 3 nail polish colours in the box that complement the set beautifully and they stamp well with the plates as well as being a actual polish that looks fantastic on your nails.

The first colour is called Orchid Chic it is a really nice shade of pink as you guys know i'm not a big fan of pink but I would wear this shade and it looks so good over the white when you stamp with it. The second colour is called Turquoise Mint I just love this shade it is my favorite colour though i am a real sucker for blues and greens. The final colour is White Knight you may feel umm another white but it is fantastic to stamp with it is more watery than my other stamping polishes but it really works well with the Moyou London plates and show of well over the top of the other colours.

TOOLS OF THE TRADE

The final thing you need to get started on your nail stamping journey is a stamper and scraper.

How cute are these packaged up in a little drawstring bag to keep them safe and together I just love the finishing touches that as been added to make this kit complete. You may notice your stamper is so lovely and shinny and you may get all frustrated because your doing everything correct in the booklet yet your images are not clear and some bits are missing. Confused , frustrated ,thinking you have just bought into a load of rubbish please do not give up it is most probably your stamper as it comes with a nice shinny film on to protect it whilst being distributed, All you need to do is to get a white buffer block or a 240 grit file and buff the stamper end gently until all shine has gone it may pop out don't worry just pop it back in again.

IMPORTANT TIP

WHEN YOU FIRST GET YOUR PLATES THEY WILL HAVE A BLUE FILM ON THEM JUST PEEL THIS OF IT IS ONLY TO PROTECT THE PLATE.

NEVER USE ACETONE TO CLEAN YOUR STAMPER OR PLATES AS OVER TIME THESE WILL BECOME RUINED AND YOU WILL HAVE TO REPLACE IF YOU USE A NON ACETONE POLISH REMOVER THIS WILL NOT ONLY CLEAN YOUR PLATES ECT BUT LET THEM LAST LONGER.

MAKE SURE YOU DO CLEAN YOUR PLATES AFTER EACH USE NOT AT THE END OF YOUR STAMPING SESSION AS BITS OF PAINT WILL GET STUCK INTO THE ETCHING AND YOU MAY NEVER BE ABLE TO REMOVE IT.

ALWAYS PREPARE YOUR STAMPER AS ABOVE FOR THE FIRST TIME USE ONLY.YOU DO NOT NEED TO BUFF YOUR STAMPER EVERY TIME ONCE IS ENOUGH.

A SECOND LOOK AT LECENTE LIGHT COPPER GLITTER

ON THE POP

If you have read my previous post you will know I was on about cnd shellac rubble with the lecente glitters so i thought i would give you a closer look at a pop using the light copper glitter.I have used electric orange on the top half of the pop and then rubble at the bottom. You can really see a difference the glitter is much brighter by putting over the rubble yet rubble is brown and the electric orange is much brighter on its own. like i said in my earlier post I do feel rubble is very understated so please don't dismiss this colour, as it may not be at the top of your clients list of colours to wear but it really lends itself to use with the brown shades of glitter and foils.

ON THE HAND

Here you can see what the glitter looks like on the hand, both hands have got cnd shellac rubble and lecente light copper glitter. My client was so excited about having this colour on she loved them. It's always nice when you can please your clients it really gives you a confidence boost and job satisfaction. By having glitters, foils and additives you are giving yourself and your clients more options not only to change the look of a colour but to do nail art designs.

if you have enjoyed this post please leave me feedback i would love to get some followers so please feel free to share and follow thank you again for checking out my blog xxxx

Swatching my lecente glitters

I have been super excited to test out my new glitters I bought from creative academy Manchester last week but have just been too busy to have a play until yesterday.

When I got all set up and ready to start I noticed i only had a few nail pops left (note to self must order more). I really didn't want to put all my stuff away not doing anything and at that moment I had a light bulb moment.ping. I could paint the pops half white (cream puff ) and half black,(blackpool) this way I still got to see the different effects on a light and dark background. It worked out well and I think in the future I will do this as saves time, products and you ain't got a million and one pops to share.

The first glitter is from the stardust collection and it's called galaxy this gives a full coverage and reminds me of the additives range there was only a slight difference on the black to white. The second colour is light copper I love this one especially over the black I also did this glitter over rubble (not pictured tho sorry) it was so nice a really good match. The third glitter is golden white you can really see a huge difference on the black and white, on the white it gives a real snow like feeling where as on the black it's green golden colour. The forth colour is bordeaux it's a really deep pink but over the black it did give a tinge of purple. The final colour in the above picture is trixie this is one of my all time favorite's and again looks fantastic over rubble (I do feel rubble is left out and a little understated) it has lots of different colours in it but the main colour is a brown.

The first glitter in above picture is im yours I wouldn't say this is a favourite of mine but I'm not a pink girly tho lots of people love pink so I had to have one in my collection saying that tho I do love it over the black as it gives a purple tone to it. The next one is showgirl I love this one as it's mainly purple but it as other speckles of other colour's to. The third one is gun metal this looks so good under blue rapture tho it is fab over the blackpool. The forth one is violet I got this as one of my regular clients loves purple and glittery shine things but wasn't keen on showgirl so I can't wait for her next appointment to see if she approves of this tone I'm sure she will love it as much as me. The final one is ocean spray I love love love this one as it's totally me as my Fav colours are blues and greens well this gives me best of both worlds I can see me going through this like there's no tomorrow.

I hope you have enjoyed my blog post please give me some feedback and would love you to follow me xxx

KNOWING WHERE TO START!!!!!

WHEN I FIRST STARTED OUT DOING NAILS I REALLY DIDN'T KNOW WHERE TO START, THERE WAS SO MANY PRODUCTS TO CHOOSE FROM AND TO BE HONEST I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHAT HALF THE ITEMS WAS AND WHAT THEY DID!

I SPENT SO MUCH MONEY ON ITEMS THAT WAS REALLY NO GOOD FOR YOUR NAILS BUYING FROM OVERSEAS AND NOT REALLY KNOWING WHAT I WAS DOING.

I SIGNED UP TO DO A COLLEGE COURSE DOING A NVQ LEVEL 2 IN NAILS AND I HAVE ALSO FURTHERED MY EDUCATION BY DOING A HOME LEARNING COURSES WITH ESSENTIAL NAILS AND DOING A CND SHELLAC COURSE WITH CREATIVE ACADEMY MANCHESTER.JUST A LITTLE HAUL VIDEO FROM A BEAUTY SHOW

I DO FEEL NOW IT IS IMPORTANT TO GET THAT EDUCATION EVEN IF YOU ONLY DO A BASIC COURSE IT WILL TEACH YOU SO MUCH ABOUT THE PRODUCTS YOU ARE USING.
ARE YOU THINKING I ONLY DO IT ON MYSELF AND MY FRIENDS?
WHY DO I NEED TRAINING?
THE ANSWER TO THAT IS HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF YOU DAMAGED YOUR FRIENDS NAILS OR YOUR OWN? THE ANSWER IS TERRIBLE. I MYSELF ONLY DO IT ON MYSELF AND FRIENDS/ FAMILY AS IT IS A HOBBY FOR ME BUT I AM SO GLAD I HAVE DONE SOME EDUCATION I'M NOT SAYING YOU HAVE TO GO WILD JUST GET SOME PROPER TRAINING,IF YOUR LIKE ME YOU WILL LOVE IT. I'M NOT ONE FOR THEORY WORK AND HATED SCHOOL BUT I HAVE ENJOYED MAJORITY OF MY COURSES.IF YOU NEED ANY HELP OR ADVICE ON WHERE TO START OR GENERAL SET UP PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME

CND SHELLAC BEGINNERS COURSE AND KIT

what to expect when you sign up for your course

Hi I signed up to do my beginners course in shellac with CREATIVE ACADEMY MANCHESTER  a couple of months ago,as my very kind partner agreed to buy this for me as a joint Christmas and birthday  present.I signed up by calling them and booking in my place and putting down a deposit to secure my place on the course, after a few days sweet squared who are the distributors to creative academy Manchester sent me a study book that i need to study ready for an online test .

Your test becomes active 21 days before your course starts and closes 1 day before you attend you need to get a minimum of 70% on the test to attend the course but don't stress as if you don't just give them a quick call and they will regenerate it for you.
As time got closer to me taking the test i did get a little worried as the book covered all cnd products, did i need to learn it all? is there just bits of the book  i need to read? do i just need to read the shellac section? the answer is you need to read and learn most of the book i suppose you could leave out the brisa and acrylic out but you read most of the book so it wont harm to read it. The test consisted of 80 questions all multiple choice but it is timed so you need to be quick.Sadly i am not quick so didn't get to answer all my questions as it went of but i still managed to get 74% but i was not happy with that so asked them to regenerate the quiz again i then got a respectable 84% if my memory is correct.

DAY 1

On arriving at the academy the ladies was all very welcoming asked me to sign in and if i would like to purchase a dinner as they knew somewhere close by and they would have it ready for our dinner time tho i had brought my own lunch so they showed me to a kitchen where i could store my salad in the fridge and make as many cups of tea or coffee as i liked.Whilst making a cup of tea a few of the lady's that was also on the course came in and we had a little chat and a little look around the store.

Then just before 10am our cnd educator DAWN GRANT introduced herself and lead us upstairs where there was another kitchen and 2 training rooms.Dawn showed us into the room where we would be doing our training and asked us to take a seat and on the table was all of our kits. Before we could check out what was in our kits we had to introduce our partners and do some more theory ready for another online quiz at the end of the day.

 GETTING STUCK IN

Wow the exciting bit opening our kits on the table was some bed roll, anti-bacterial hand sanitizer (cool blue) a cuticle pusher, and two boxes in box one there was base and top coat and four shellac colours romantique, cream puff, wildfire and tropix also was 3 mini bottles of scrub fresh, isopropyl alcohol and nourishing remover there was also a bottle of cuticle oil (solor oil) a big bottle of cuticle away a kanga nail file and and a orange wood stick plus a sticker for your lamp and some leaflets i think i remembered everything lol. Then we was to open the 2nd box this was our cnd lamp we had to set it up and Dawn showed us all how to do this.

Once we had opened our kit Dawn gave us a demo on how to do a p.r.e.p on the natural nails and then we went back to our tables and practiced this on each other. Once Dawn could see we was all ok doing the procedure it was our lunch time.
We all was eager to arrive back to the class room to get stuck back in and Dawn recapped us on the p.r.e.p again and showed us how to apply the shellac system using wildfire as the colour base as red shows any imperfections you have missed you will find most nail educators will make you paint a red and a french polish.Once the demonstration was over we went back to our places and took turns on applying the shellac on a  finger each starting from the beginning.
The afternoon just seemed to fly by as once we had all done a finger each Dawn showed us a demonstration of a french and the day was over, or so we thought we was so lucky we had one of the creative lady's showing us how to use the moyou london stamp plates i'm sure her name was Lydia i hope i have not got it wrong i am lucky as i already knew about the plates for a while but still nice to get an extra demonstration.I stayed behind to do the online quiz as i was at college strait after this class so didn't really have much time to do it and didn't think i would get the 80% needed to pass so would need the quiz to be regenerated but lucky i got dead on 80%.

2ND DAY IN

Ohh the shop was buzzing with us lady's filling up baskets of things we wanted to buy but just before 10am Dawn came to find us so we could get the day started.Dawn refreshed us with everything we had learned the previous day and asking us questions to make sure we still remembered everything.
After Dawn did the demonstrations to recap she sent us of to practice the p.r.e.p and a french manicure using the shellac. When we had all done 1 nail each we got to do a timed practice where Dawn wanted us to do 1 red nail and 1 french nail plus doing the p.r.e.p in 15 minutes i don't think any of us managed to do it in 15 minutes lol. Before you knew it it was dinner time again. The nerves started to kick in as after dinner we had to do the full shellac manicure from start to finish but on a real client(well sort of they was our friend/family members).

REAL CLIENTS

This is it we all brought our clients into the training room and was told to do p.r.e.p on both hands then to do a red shellac on one hand and once that was done do a french manicure and not forgetting to scrub fresh again as oils ect could of touched the nail plate. When we was done we could go for a quick brew whilst everyone had completed there hands and once they had Dawn showed us how to do a removal using both nourishing remover that removes in 8 minutes and using pure acetone that takes 10 minutes and guess what guys i was the dummy this time.We all went back to our clients to remove the hand we found the easiest to do  so most of us if not all of us took of the red and had to do the opposite shellac so the client was leaving with matching hands  think of the looks they would of got lol.Dawn inspected our work giving us feedback on our work and technique.we said goodbye to our clients and waited in anticipation to see if we had passed the course.

DRUM ROLL PLEASE

Yay we all passed it was such a relief and exciting time we had a little graduation ceremony and was given our certificates and a cnd badge

HERE IS A VIDEO OF THE KIT AND EXTRAS THAT I BOUGHT

THE 2 DAYS TRAINING WAS AMAZING I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO USING MY NEW SKILL AND HOPEFULLY I WILL GET TO DO MORE TRAINING WITH THE CREATIVE ACADEMY MANCHESTER .THANK YOU EVERYONE AND ESPECIALLY TO DAWN GRANT XXXX
